How to cut hardened steel
- Nov 21, 2018 -

(1) Use hard alloys with high red hardness and wear resistance and impact resistance; in the absence of impact load, YT30, YT15, YG3 and other tool materials should be used. (2) Tool angle, in general, as the hardness of hardened steel increases, the value of the rake angle of the turning tool should be increased. The back angle of the high hardness steel is not more than 6°. (3) Finished hardened steel should adopt a smaller tool nose radius turning tool, usually rε≤0.3mm. (4) The cutting amount of turning hardened steel should be higher, and the feed rate and the amount of backing knife should be smaller.
